Build Your Brand With Video

How often during the day do you find yourself picking up your phone to checkout some of your social networks? Maybe just a couple times in the morning and when it’s about time to go home, just to check the traffic. After you get home and have a bite to eat and discover there is nothing to watch on TV, you check your computer or smart phone, check your email and just maybe, head back to see what’s happening on your social network sites. When you are at your social network sites; what catches your eyes faster than anything else? The highest viewing rates on social sites are videos. How often, if ever, do you post videos? How often do you go live on Facebook? Do you ever write posts on Linkedin and insert videos? If you are not doing any of these, you are missing a huge element of your future customers and the ability to build your brand and create new business. Today’s marketplace is different from just a few years ago and your customers and followers want to watch videos. In the real estate industry, just having photos isn’t enough and besides, no one wants to look through fifty pictures when a two minute video will show them almost everything they want to see. If you are not creating videos to build your brand, it’s time for you to get started. You probably have many of the tools already to start creating videos.
If you have a smart phone, you have a tool to create videos. You have to be careful when creating a video outside and wind blows across the mic and creates a scratching sound. Instability of a video will keep viewers from watching and video sticks and tripods are very inexpensive investment for you to start creating stable videos. You will be limited in the quality of your videos with your phone, but that doesn’t mean you need to go out and spend hundreds of dollars on a video camera. I use a Logitech C920 camera that works great within my simple studio or outside. The mic works great and when it uploads into your video file, it is easily edited with your already existing software.
If you are going to be using a voice-over on your videos, do not depend on your computer mic, they create a horrible narration. Pic yourself up an inexpensive computer condenser mic, the start around ten bucks and will make a big difference in the sound quality of your narrations.
I have enclosed a YouTube link to a presentation I did for our local real estate board with several different FREE video applications you can use to start creating your videos. Don’t wait till you think you have created the perfect video to post on your website, get one or more out there, now. Chances are, you’ll look back a year from now and think your videos were horrible, but reality is, you will have built your video production skills. Make your videos relevant to your industry and post them on your website, social pages and even your blog and watch how fast you will be appearing on the first page of a Google search.
